History of the club

The club was originally part of Bristol Dog Training Club which still holds obedience training at Bedminster and Warmley.

We formed an agility branch in the mid 80s which originally trained at Dick Callicott’s dog kennels at Chelvey and then moved to the Riding centre for the disabled at Blaise Castle.

Around 1987 Bristol Dog Training Club did not want responsibility for the agility side and Severnside was born and we registered with The Kennel Club in 1988.

We have a great team of instructors.  Many of whom have completed The Agility Club Instructor’s Seminar and passed the exam to become an Agility Club Approved Instructor (ACAI).
